It was only recently that I was tested and found to have chronic hepatitis. A virologist tried to get me into a test program after seeing the severity of my liver damage, but my age violated the protocols. Fortunately for me, the Veterans Administration admitted me into a Hepatitis program and after some discussion I was found to be a viable candidate for completing the program with the meds that are currently available. I will start treatment about June 15th and although I know it will be a rough go at the age of 76, I look forward to the challenge. It is my hope that the FDA will soon allow the newer drugs that are being used in Europe and Great Britain with great success to get to market.
